Mustafa Kizza Joins Nairobi United FC on Two-Year Deal

Mustafa Kizza joins Nairobi United on a two-year deal, the Kenyan club announced with excitement this week. Now, the 26-year-old Ugandan international will wear shirt number 21 and add speed, skill, and experience to the team’s left flank.

Kizza arrives from NEC FC in the Uganda Premier League. Before that, he played for Egyptian side Telecom Egypt. He also featured for KCCA FC, Express FC, Portuguese club Arouca, and Canadian MLS side CF Montreal—giving him broader international exposure than most East African defenders.

Since his youth, Kizza has represented Uganda at multiple levels. He progressed through the U-20 and U-23 national teams and now holds 16 senior caps for the Cranes, scoring four goals—an impressive record for a full-back.

In addition, he brings serious silverware to Nairobi United. While at KCCA, he won two Uganda Premier League titles (2016–17 and 2018–19) and two Stanbic Uganda Cups. He also lifted the CECAFA Club Cup in 2019. As a result, his winning mentality could boost the squad’s confidence in tight matches.

Notably, Kizza combines defensive discipline with attacking energy. He makes relentless overlapping runs, delivers accurate crosses, and links well with midfielders. Therefore, he fits perfectly into Nairobi United’s plan for a more aggressive full-back role.

The club officially welcomed him, saying: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ugandan left-back Mustafa Kizza from NEC FC. A proven Cranes international, Kizza brings experience, quality, and attacking intent down the left flank. Tukusanyukidde e Nairobi, Mustapha!”

Meanwhile, his signing is part of a broader squad overhaul. Nairobi United has also captured Roy Okal and John Njuguna this window. Together, these moves signal ambition for a strong domestic campaign.

Kizza recently completed his medicals and is expected to join training immediately. While fans await his debut, many already believe his MLS and continental experience will raise the team’s performance level.
