Man Utd Interim Role: Solskjaer, Carrick in Talks

Manchester United has started discussions with potential candidates for the Man Utd interim role after Ruben Amorim’s departure. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick, and caretaker manager Darren Fletcher have all been contacted for the position.

Solskjaer and Carrick in the Running for Interim Role

Jason Wilcox, United’s director of football, has spoken with Solskjaer and Carrick about the interim role. Both are available without compensation, as they are currently out of work. Fletcher, though respected within the club, is considered more of a long-term option and is still under consideration for the role.

Next Steps for Manchester United

While the club prioritizes finding an interim manager, Man Utd hasn’t ruled out making a permanent hire if the right candidate is available. Wilcox will conduct formal interviews soon. The final decision will require approval from Sir Jim Ratcliffe. United hopes to have a manager in place before the Manchester derby on January 17.

Fletcher’s Interim Leadership

Darren Fletcher will continue as interim manager for now. The squad has responded well to his leadership, but the club may look outside for a permanent replacement. Fletcher’s sons, Tyler and Jack, have also been involved with the first-team squad, adding a unique element to his role.
